Caution: The throttle control cable is very sensitive to bending and must therefore be handled with extreme care when installing. One small bend can cause the engine to dip when moving. Cables that are bent must not be installed on the engine.
Removal

1.3L Diesel Engine: Unhook the gas cable (3). Pull out the adjusting bracket (2) to secure it to the support. Then pull the rubber bushing up from the support.
Pull the throttle cable nipple out of the throttle segment spline (1). For a diesel engine, press the ball head off the fuel injection pump lever.

1.25/1.4L engine: Pull out the clamp (1) on the adjuster. Unhook the throttle cable nipple; ~section of the throttle valve, for which disconnect the support (2) by turning it.

If the gas cable needs to be removed completely, unhook the cable nipple from the accelerator pedal in the car's interior. Pull the cable out of the engine compartment, releasing the rubber bushing from the engine compartment bulkhead.
Installation
Install the gas cable in the reverse order of removal. Insert the rubber bushing into the engine compartment bulkhead. Attach the cable nipple first to the pedal, then to the throttle element.
1.3L diesel engine: insert the rubber bushing into the support.
1.25/1.4L engine: Secure the support (2) by turning.
Adjust the throttle cable using the adjusting bracket.
