Note: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
Disassembly Notes
1. Hairpin.
A) Using two wrenches, tighten the two nuts on the stud.
b) Unscrew the stud by turning it by the nut.
2. Power steering pump assembly.
For disassembly, fix the pump in a vise using a special bracket.
3. Pump shaft.
A) To remove the shaft, remove the circlip shown in the figure.
b) Using a plastic mallet, knock the shaft out of the pump housing.
4. Oil seal.
Remove the seal using a slotted screwdriver.
Note: Wrap a cloth around the screwdriver to prevent damage to the pump housing. If the pump housing is damaged, replace the pump assembly.
Assembly notes
1. Oil seal.
Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, install the gland.
2. Pump shaft.
A) Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, install the pump shaft into the housing.
b) Install the retaining ring shown in the figure.
3. Collector plate.
When installing the manifold plate, position it as shown in the figure.
4. Rotor, rotor blades and stator ring.
A) Install the rotor as shown.
b) Install the retainer ring as shown in the illustration.
V) Install the rotor blades.
5. Pump cover.
A) Install the O-ring and manifold plate to the power steering pump housing.
b) Using the pump cover, adjust the location of the manifold plate.
V) Install the pump cover.
6. Hairpin.
A) Using two wrenches, tighten the two nuts on the stud.
b) Tighten the stud by turning it by the nut.
V) Using two wrenches, unscrew the nuts from the stud.
