a) Check the steering tie rod end for cracks on the boot and other damage. If any faults are found, replace the boot.
b) Check the ease of rotation of the ball joint pin. Replace the steering rod end if necessary.
c) Rotate the ball joint pin five times and measure the rotation torque of the ball joint pin.
- Nominal torque - 0.49 - 1.18 Nm
- Dynamometer scale readings: 4.9 - 11.8 N

Checking and adjusting the steering gear play
1. Set the steering gear to the center position.
2. Install the dial indicator as shown in the figure. Hold the steering gear shaft from turning and move the steering arm to measure the play in the steering gear.
