1. Check the fluid level in the tank (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures"). If necessary, bring the fluid level up to normal.

Caution: Use only the type of power steering fluid approved by the vehicle manufacturer.

  • Power steering fluid - ATF M-III or Dexron II

2. Jack up the front of the car.

3. With the engine not running, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and left several times.

4. Check the fluid level again; if the level has dropped, bring it up to normal.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the fluid level stops decreasing.

6. Lower the front of the car

7. Start the engine and let it idle.

8. Turn the steering wheel right and left several times until it stops.

9. Make sure that the liquid does not foam and that its level has not dropped.

10. If necessary, add fluid and repeat steps "8" and "9".
