Steering column and steering wheel — check (Mazda BT-50 (1))

1. Perform the following checks and replace the steering shaft assembly if necessary.

a) Check that the steering column bearing and bushings are not damaged.

b) Check the length of the steering shaft.

• Steering shaft length - 789.9 - 792.9 mm

2. (Models with steering column adjustment mechanism) Check that the steering column adjustment mechanism is working properly.

a) Make sure that the tilt adjustment lever moves smoothly from the "Not locked" position to the "Locked" position and back.



b) Make sure that the steering column is locked when the adjustment lever is locked and moves freely when the lever is not locked.

Replace faulty parts if necessary.
