Removal and installation

Attention:
  • When installing the camshaft position sensor, make sure that it is thoroughly cleaned of any foreign metal materials, otherwise the signal from the sensor will be distorted when it is operating.
  • Do not allow liquid to come into contact with the sensor connector, as this may cause the sensor to malfunction.

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position sensor.

3. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the camshaft position sensor from the cylinder head.
  • Tightening torque: 8-11 Nm

Tightening torque: 8-11 Nm

4. Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Examination

1. Set the idle speed.

2. Check the output voltage at the sensor terminals.

Voltage at terminals:
  • A - always around 0 V

At terminal "B" the voltage should vary depending on the crankshaft speed, from ~ 0 V at low speed to ~ 5 V at high speed

(Based on website data: «MazBook.ru»)
  • B - always about 5 V

B - always about 5 V

If the voltage at the sensor terminals differs from the specified value, replace the sensor.
