Central locking — general description (Mazda Capella GC)

1. On models equipped with central locking, it forces all passenger door locks to follow the position of the driver's door lock. The system components include the driver's door lock switch, the passenger door solenoid actuator, the control unit, and the associated wiring harness.

2. If there are any malfunctions in the system, the doors may close and open manually. Check the appropriate fuse and fusible link if the system does not work at all.

3. After removing the trim panel and water-repellent film, we gain access to the parts installed in the door (Chapter 16). The check is carried out by replacing known good blocks; no repair is possible. Before installing the trim, check that the lock functions correctly.

4. Control unit (sometimes called a timer) located behind the trim panel in the passenger footwell.
