Doors — removal, installation, adjustment (Mazda Capella GC)

1. On models with power windows, central locking, etc., disconnect the negative battery cable. Also disconnect the door wiring harness connector. In this case, it may be necessary to remove the door trim panel (Chapter 16) or adjacent body trim panels to gain access to the connector.

2. Make a mark around the hinge bolted to the door and pillar. Remove the limiting belt pin.



3. Invite an assistant to support the door. Remove the hinge boots from the door or pillar and remove the door.

4. Assembly is carried out in reverse order. Observe the hinge bolt alignment marks if installing the original door.

5. Check that the door closes correctly. If necessary, adjust its position by loosening the hinge bolts, reinstalling the door and tightening the bolts.

6. Adjust the position of the door lock strike plate so that the door closes easily and has no gap when closed. Loosen the strike plate screws to adjust it and tighten the screws when the correct position is found.
