Do not clean plastic panels with solvents or petroleum-based cleaners. They should be cleaned with water, a household cleaner and a soft brush. Wash these panels as often as you wash your car.
After cleaning, apply a protective coating for rubber and plastic parts to the surface of the panels to protect the panels from dirt and damage. This coating should also be applied to glass seals, vacuum hoses and rubber sleeves, as chemical degradation of these components is the most common cause of vehicle failure.
