Note. The models described in this manual are equipped with an airbag system. Before working in close proximity to shock sensors, steering column or front panel, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then the cable from the positive battery terminal, then wait at least 3 minutes. Accidental airbag deployment can cause injury (see chapter 12). The airbag system wiring through the front panel and center console is yellow. Do not connect a tester or wires from other vehicle systems to these wires.
Warning. If the car radio installed in your car has an anti-theft code, make sure you have the code to unlock it before disconnecting the battery.
Hood lock
1. Mark the position of the lock relative to the body a to facilitate subsequent installation (see fig. 10.9), then remove the latches and remove the plastic cover of the lock (pic. 11.1). Turn out bolts and nuts of fastening of the lock to a support of a radiator. Remove the lock.
2. From connect and the cable from the lock, removing the cable retainer and unfastening the cable (pic. 11.2, a, b).
3. Installation is done in sequence. reverse withdrawal.
Note. Adjust the lock so that the hood is securely fixed and the hood shock absorbers are slightly compressed.
Cable
4. Disconnect the cable from the hood latch (see point 1).
5. Tie a piece of twine to the end of the cable, then remove the remaining cable retainers.
6. In the car, remove the plastic panel (see paragraph 13).
7. Under the front panel, unscrew the nut securing the hood opening lever and remove the lever (pic. 11.7).
8. Pull out a cable together with the rubber plug inside salon. Make sure the new cable has a rubber grommet, then untie the string from the old cable and tie it to the new cable.
9. Working in the engine compartment, pull the new cable through the bulkhead.
10. In the car, install the hood release lever.
11. The rest of the installation procedure is performed in the reverse order of removal.
