Stick one protective tape above and below the plank. This will protect the paint during removal. In addition, the installation of a new bar will be easier.
Cut the adhesive joint between the bar and the body with a thin nylon cord (fishing line) and remove the bar. To facilitate the work, wrap the cord at both ends around the wooden bars and lightly heat the bar with a hair dryer.
Note: The adhesive for the factory emblem on the grille comes off in the same way.
Wash off the remaining glue with alcohol and dry the place for the glue.
Warm up the new trim strip with a hair dryer.
Remove the protective paper from the new bar. Align the bar and press firmly to the body.
To improve the bonding quality, roll a wooden or plastic roller over the surface of the decorative strip.
Remove protective tape.
