The electric engine stop device is located on the fuel injection pump above the fuel connections. When the ignition is turned on, voltage is supplied to the device and the fuel channel opens. When the device is turned off, the piston moves under the action of the built-in spring and closes the fuel channel. The device should be checked when the engine does not start.

Examination

Turn on the ignition. The stop device should click.

If this does not happen, disconnect the wire (A). Using an auxiliary wire, connect the stop device to the positive terminal of the battery.

If in this case the electromagnetic valve operates, check the electrical connections and wires, the voltage supply from the control unit.

If the valve does not operate, check the tightness of the engine stop device and replace it if necessary.

Removal

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery with the ignition off. This will erase the data from the electronic memory units. See the instructions in Chapter "Electrical equipment".

Disconnect the electrical wires. Clean the outside of the stop device and unscrew it.

Caution: Be careful not to let the piston and spring fall out.

Installation

Insert the stop device with a new sealing ring. Pay attention to the correct seating of the spring and piston.

Carefully screw the stop device into the high-pressure fuel pump and tighten it to a torque of 20 Nm.

Connect the wire to the electromagnetic valve. Set the clock readings and enter the required codes.
