General description of fuse links (Mazda Capella GC)

In addition to fuses, the wiring is protected by fusible links. These connections are used in circuits that are not normally connected, such as the ignition circuit.

The fusible links used on these models consist of special wires that are inserted into a fusible link block located on the inside wing panel adjacent channel to the battery. The location of other fuse links on your vehicle may be specific, please refer to the wiring diagrams at the end of this book.

Fusible links cannot be repaired, but they can be replaced with wire of the same size (available from your dealer). The order of their replacement is as follows:

• a) Repair the damage that caused the insert to burn out.
• b) Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• c) Remove the fuse link directly from the block.
• d) Insert the new insert securely into the block (photo).
