Attention:
- If the anti-lock braking system warning light comes on while driving, this indicates that the ABS control unit has detected a fault in the system. In this case, the braking process is carried out in the same way as in cars without ABS. If the ABS warning light does not turn off, contact a Mazda Dealership. If the anti-lock braking system warning light flashes for 10 seconds after starting the engine, the ABS system is damaged. In this case, contact a Mazda workshop as soon as possible.
- The warning light may come on when you press the brake pedal repeatedly while driving on a slippery surface (e.g. snow, ice, etc). In this case, stop and turn off the engine. If the control lamp does not light up when the engine is running, this indicates that the ABS is working properly. If, on the contrary, it lights up again or flashes while the engine is running, contact a Mazda dealer. Note that when braking on a soft surface (snow, gravel) braking distance is significantly increased. (A vehicle with a conventional brake system will need a shorter braking distance under these conditions.) This is due to "pillows" formed by the wheel when braking on a soft surface.
Carefully! The ABS system cannot compensate for careless driving, speeding, driving distance, aquaplaning. Even if your car is equipped with ABS, be extremely careful and careful.
Comment! When starting the engine with a spare battery, the engine runs rough. The flashing of the anti-lock braking system warning light is caused by a lack of battery power and does not indicate damage to the system.
