Type A - analog indication. If the thermometer needle moves beyond the normal temperature mark, this means that the engine has overheated.
Type B - electronic digital indication. To indicate engine overheating, all display segments light up.
If this happens, do the following:
- 1. Pull over and stop the car.
- 2. Turn off the air conditioner.
- 3. If coolant leaks from the radiator, stop the engine. Set the key in the steering wheel lock to position «ON (II)» but do not start the engine. The radiator cooling fans turn on automatically. If the fans do not turn on, contact a Mazda Dealership.
- 4. If there is no coolant leak from the radiator, run the engine slowly and open the hood to allow the engine to cool gradually.
- 5. If the temperature does not drop, stop the engine and allow it to cool down for a sufficiently long time.
- 6. Inspect all coolant paths and connections. If no leak is found, stop the engine immediately and contact a Mazda Dealership.
- 7. If there is no coolant leak, check the coolant level. If necessary, add coolant.
Carefully! Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine and radiator are hot. You can be injured by boiling coolant and hot steam.
Attention! If the engine continues to overheat, inspect and, if necessary, repair the cooling system.
