Replacing the front suspension strut components (Mazda Capella GE)

Removal elements

1. Remove the suspension strut.

2. Clamp the suspension strut in a vice.



3. Place the compressors on the spring and compress it.



4. Unscrew the shock absorber rod mounting nut.



5. Remove the upper strut mount. Check the condition of the bearing.





6. Remove the spring seat and spring.

7. Remove the seat and gasket from the spring.

8. Remove the cover from the shock absorber.

9. Inspect the gasket on the lower seat for wear or damage.

Assembly of elements

1. Replace the lower spring seat gasket if necessary. Install the cover on the shock absorber.



2. Install the spring onto the suspension strut.



3. Install the gasket and upper spring seat.



4. Install the seal and upper strut mount.

5. Tighten the shock absorber piston rod retaining nut to the specified torque.

6. Install the suspension strut on the vehicle.
