Gearbox and engine bolt locations (6-cylinder models)

Removal
1. Release the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the battery along with the bracket.
2. Remove the air intake pipe and air filter.
3. Remove the starter.
4. Disconnect the wires from the gearbox.
5. Put the gear in reverse.
6. Disconnect the shift rod and extension rod from the gearbox.
7. Disconnect the wire from the vehicle speed sensor.
8. Disconnect the clutch pressure cylinder and secure it with a piece of wire.
9. Raise and support the front of the vehicle. Secure the engine to the lift.
10. Remove the upper bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
11. Remove the fuel filter.
12. Remove the left engine mount.
13. Raise and support the front of the vehicle. Remove the front wheels.
14. Drain the transmission oil.

15. On four-cylinder engines, remove the intake manifold bracket bolts (A) (bolts (B) secure the starter bracket) and remove the bracket.
16. Remove the exhaust system.
17. Remove the axle shafts and intermediate shaft.

18. Insert bushings or special plugs into the axle shaft holes.

19. Secure the bushings with tape to prevent them from falling out when you remove the transmission.

20. Remove the protective shields and crossbar.
21. Remove six bolts, two nuts and remove the gearbox support.

22. Remove the bolts (arrows) and remove the clutch cover.
23. Place a jack under the gearbox.
24. Remove the remaining gearbox bolts.

25. On 4-cylinder engines, remove the bolts (arrows) and detach the transmission and engine bracket.
26. Disconnect the gearbox from the engine and lower it using a jack.
Installation
The gearbox is installed in the reverse order of removal.
