Examination
1. Check the fuse (15A) located in the fuse box. Replace it if necessary.
2. Put the car into reverse gear and turn on the ignition, the reversing lights should come on. Turn off the ignition.
3. If the lights do not come on, check the reversing light bulbs.
4. If the lamps are in good condition, disconnect the wire from the switch and connect an ohmmeter to the switch contacts.
5. When reverse gear is engaged, the switch circuit must be closed.
6. If necessary, replace the switch or check its circuit for breaks.
Replacement
Unscrew the switch and install a new one.
