Jacking up the car
Attention! The jack supplied with the vehicle is intended only for changing wheels and temporarily lifting the vehicle to place props under the frame. Never work under the vehicle or start the engine while the vehicle is only supported by this jack.
The vehicle must be parked on a level surface. Set the gear lever to the Park position (automatic transmission) or in by marrying reverse (mechanical transmission) Apply the parking brake and place chocks under the wheels diagonally to the wheel to be changed.
Remove the spare wheel and jack from the trunk. Using a pry bar or the flat end of a wheel wrench handle, remove the cap and ring trim from the wheel to be replaced (If there are any).
Warning: On some models it is not possible to remove the cap in this way. you must first unscrew the wheel nuts.
Loosen half a turn, but do not immediately unscrew the wheel nuts. Note Factory aluminum alloy rims are secured with a single nut that requires a special wrench (supplied with the car). Then place a jack under the threshold of the car and adjust its height so that the slot in its head is aligned with the protrusion intended for installing the jack. There are two such points on each threshold - for the rear and front wheels.
Jack up the car body. until the wheel is off the ground. Loosen the wheel nuts, remove the damaged wheel and replace it with a spare.
Screw the nuts with the tapered side towards the wheel. Lightly tighten them. Do not attempt to fully tighten the nuts until the wheel is lowered onto the road, otherwise the vehicle may slip off the jack. Lower the jack and remove it from under the vehicle. Tighten the wheel nuts in a diagonal sequence.
Install wheel cap and ring lining (if there).
Remove the damaged wheel, jack and wrench. Remove wheel chocks.
The jack should be installed under the thresholds in the place intended for this (on each side there are two such places marked with notches).
Towing
Vehicles with automatic transmission must not be towed if all four wheels are on the road. for towing front (leading) the wheels of the car must be loaded on the platform of the tow truck or at least on the trolley.
When towing a vehicle with a manual transmission with all wheels on the ground, place the transmission in neutral and release the parking brake. The ignition key must be in the ACC position to unlock the steering column latch.
For towing, use equipment specially designed for this purpose. The tow rope should be attached to the eyelets or to the power parts of the body, and not to the bumper or any bracket.
When towing, you must observe the safety measures and all the restrictions established by the Rules of the Road.
