The Mazda 626, MX-6 and Ford Probe models are available in 2-door hatchback and coupe body styles, as well as a 4-door sedan body.
The four- or six-cylinder V-engine with electronic fuel injection on these models is located at the front, transversely to the vehicle. Drive to the front driving wheels is provided via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission and independent drive shafts (half-shafts).
The car's four-wheel suspension is independent, using a MacPherson strut design. The power steering is located behind the engine.
All models have disc front brakes and either disc or drum rear brakes. The brake system is equipped with a vacuum booster. Some models are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
