Be careful when driving
The driving style of a car must always be adapted to road conditions - this is an essential factor in terms of safety and convenience. As a driver, you should know better than anyone how to drive in different conditions.
Driving with a cold engine
The engine warms up at high idle speed. Take this into account when driving with an engine that is not yet warmed up enough - the car's speed when you release the gas may not be as low as you expect.
Loading the car
Cargo, its location and fastening (trailer, luggage rack, etc.) significantly change the vehicle's handling characteristics. Driving style and speed should be adjusted according to conditions.
Driving on wet roads
- Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
- Avoid sharp turns and lane changes.
- Keep a sufficient distance from the vehicle in front.
- There are puddles, streams of water, etc. on the road. Reduce speed to avoid hydroplaning of the vehicle's wheels on the water and loss of control. Worn shields increase this risk.
In winter conditions
- In winter, it is recommended to install tires with winter tread on your car wheels. Studded tires should be handled with caution. Studded tires provide better grip on icy roads, but on clear asphalt, the risk of studded tires locking and skidding can be even higher than with non-studded tires.
- Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
- Avoid sudden steering movements.
- Keep a sufficient distance from the vehicle in front.
