When working with an alternator, it is necessary to follow certain rules to avoid damage to the alternator and other parts. Complete disassembly and repair of the alternator should be done in a workshop.
If an additional battery is connected (for example, when starting the engine), then it is necessary to ensure that the contacts of both batteries are correctly connected to each other, observing the correct polarity.
When connecting the charger, connect its wires to the corresponding contacts of the battery, without confusing the polarity.
The engine must not run without a battery.
Never short-circuit the contacts of the generator and voltage regulator.
Never reverse the polarity of the generator connection.
When performing electric welding work, be sure to disconnect the wires from the battery.
