Replace carbon brushes when their length is less than 5 mm, for which purpose unsolder the connecting wires.

Check the contact rings for wear, sharpen and polish them if necessary.

Clean the contact surfaces and check the force of the contact springs, replacing them if necessary.

Installation

Insert the brushes (A) and springs (B) into the brush holder (C) and solder the wires.

Insert the brushes (A) and springs (B) into the brush holder (C) and solder the wires.

To prevent solder from getting into the wires when soldering new brushes, press the brush wires with pliers when soldering.

Caution: Solder in the wires can cause the wires to become stiff and the brushes to fail quickly.

The insulating tube on the wire should be pinched near the soldering point.

After installation, check the ease of movement of the new carbon brushes in the brush holder.

First, secure the voltage regulator with one screw, and then carefully press it into the final position to secure it completely.

Install the generator protective cover.

Install the generator.

Install the poly V-belt.
