Removal and installation the axle shaft.
1 - brake drum,
2 - parking brake cable,
3 - brake pipe,
4 - nut,
5 - rear axle shaft and brake shield assembly,
6 - adjusting linings,
7 - wheel speed sensor rotor (models with ABS),
8 - bearing nut,
9 - lock washer,
10 - bearing housing,
11 - inner bearing ring,
12 - spacer,
13 - oil seal,
14 - outer bearing ring,
15 - brake shield,
16 - rear axle shaft,
17 - wheel mounting stud,
18 - protective plate,
19 - oil seal,
20 - O-ring seal.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Notes on removal
1. (Models with ABS) Remove the wheel speed sensor rotor
a) Using sandpaper, grind down the rotor section to a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm.
b) Knock off the rotor with a chisel.
Note: Be careful not to damage the rear axle shaft when using a screwdriver and chisel.

2. Using a special tool, remove the bearing nut from the rear axle shaft.
Note: The left axle shaft bearing nut has a left-hand thread.

3. Using a special tool, remove the bearing race.

4. Using a hammer and a suitable punch, remove the seal (from the bearing race side) and the outer ring of the bearing.

5. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the rear axle housing.
