Removal and installation of a semiaxis.
1 - brake drum,
2 - parking brake cable,
3 - brake pipe,
4 - nut,
5 - rear axle shaft and brake shield assembly,
6 - shims,
7 - wheel speed sensor rotor (models with ABS),
8 - bearing nut,
9 - lock washer,
10 - bearing housing,
11 - the inner ring of the bearing,
12 - spacer,
13 - stuffing box,
14 - the outer ring of the bearing,
15 - brake shield,
16 - rear axle shaft,
17 - wheel stud,
18 - protective plate,
19 - stuffing box,
20 - ring seal.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Withdrawal Notes
1. (Models with ABS) Remove the wheel speed sensor rotor
A) Using emery, grind down part of the rotor to a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm.
b) Knock off the rotor with a chisel.
Note: do not damage the rear axle shaft when working with a screwdriver and a chisel.
2. Using the special tool, remove the bearing nut from the rear axle shaft.
Note: The left axle bearing nut has a left hand thread.
3. Using the special tool, remove the bearing race.
4. Using a hammer and a suitable punch, remove the oil seal (from the side of the bearing) and the outer race of the bearing.
5. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the rear axle housing.
