Before changing a wheel
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface where work can be carried out safely without obstructing traffic.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Move the manual transmission lever to the first gear position and turn off the engine. Set the transfer case control lever to any position other than "N".
4. If necessary, turn on the hazard warning lights and set the warning triangle. Disembark passengers from the car and take out luggage.
5. Remove the jack, jack handle and wheel wrench.
6. Prepare the spare tire
7. Prepare wheel chocks.
Wheel replacement
1. Place a wheel chock under the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel to be replaced.
2. Turn off on one turn of a nut of fastening of a replaced wheel in the sequence specified in drawing.
3. Place the jack next to the wheel to be replaced in the appropriate place by rotating the jack handle, raise the car, unscrew the wheel nuts and remove the wheel.
4. Replace the wheel with a spare.
Before installing the wheel, remove rust from the mounting surface with a wire brush or similar tool.
5. Tighten the mounting nuts by hand.
6. Turning the jack handle to the left, lower the car.
7. Using a wheelbrace, finally tighten the nuts 2-3 turns in the sequence shown in the figure.
- Tightening torque - 88 - 118 Nm
8. Place all tools, jack and punctured wheel in their storage areas. Check the pressure in the installed tire.
The recommended tire pressure is indicated in the table located on the driver's door.
