Before changing a wheel



1. Place the vehicle on a level surface where work can be carried out safely without obstructing traffic.

2. Apply the parking brake.

3. Move the manual transmission lever to first gear and turn off the engine. Set the transfer case control lever to any position except "N".

4. If necessary, turn on the hazard warning lights and install the emergency stop sign. Unload the passengers from the car and remove the luggage.

5. Remove the jack, jack handle and wheel brace.

6. Prepare a spare tire

1. Place a wheel chock under the wheel that is diagonally opposite the one that is being replaced.

3. Place the jack next to the wheel to be replaced in the appropriate place, turn the jack handle, lift the car, unscrew the wheel mounting nuts and remove the wheel.

4. Replace the wheel with the spare one.

Before installing the wheel, remove rust from the mounting surface with a wire brush or similar tool.

5. Tighten the mounting nuts by hand.

6. Lower the vehicle by turning the jack handle to the left.

7. Using the wheel wrench, finally tighten the nuts 2-3 turns in the sequence shown in the figure.
  • Tightening torque - 88 - 118 Nm

8. Place all tools, jack and punctured wheel in their storage places. Check the pressure in the installed tire.
