Diagnostics — general information (Mazda Capella GC)

Automatic transmission problems can be caused by four main reasons:

• poor engine performance,
• incorrect adjustment,
• hydraulic and
• mechanical nature.

Diagnostics should begin with checking the level and condition of the transmission fluid. Then check the adjustment of the shift linkage and the adjustment of the throttle linkage. Perform a road test to determine if the cause of the transmission malfunction has been corrected. If the problem still persists, refer further diagnostics to your dealer or other specialist.
