2. Jack up and securely support the front of the vehicle on axle stands. Drain approximately 1.1 liters of transmission fluid (Section 1).
3. Locate the block wiring connector (near the battery) and turn it off.
4. Unscrew the block with large pliers (photo) and plug the opening with a rag.
Using large pliers, unscrew the power shift solenoid assembly
5. Place your finger on the solenoid plunger. Attach the switch to the negative terminal of the battery and touch the connector to its positive terminal. The plunger should retract (photo).

6. Replace the unit if there is any doubt about its condition.
7. Before installing, apply sealant to the threads of the solenoid assembly.
8. After installation, check the fluid level and add fluid as needed.
