2. Before starting work, buy the indicated in Specifications transmission fluid (see Recommended Fluids and Lubricants at the beginning of this manual).
3. In addition, this work requires axle stands, a drain container with a capacity of at least 4.5 liters, newspapers and clean rags.
4. Drain the liquid when it is hot. This will remove more sediment than if the liquid was cold. The temperature of the liquid can exceed 180°C, so it is recommended to wear protective gloves.
5. After the engine has warmed up to operating temperature, jack up the car and place it on axle stands.
6. Place everything you need under the car, being careful not to touch the hot components of the exhaust system.
7. Place a drain container under the transmission differential and remove the drain plug (photo). Make sure the drain container is in the correct place as the liquid will flow with some force.

8. After the fluid has drained completely, clean the transmission drain plug and reinstall it. Clamp the plug securely.
9. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
10. Open the hood and remove the transmission fluid dipstick.
11. Thread the amount of fluid of the desired type specified in the Specifications into the transmission (use a funnel to prevent spillage). It is better to add liquid little by little, monitoring the level with a dipstick (Chapter 4). Let the liquid drain into the pan. Keep dirt and foreign matter out of the transmission.
12. Set the drive mode selector lever to position "Park", apply the parking brake and start the engine without depressing the accelerator (if it is possible). Do not rev the engine, let it idle.
13. Recheck the transmission fluid level (the engine is still idling). Look under the vehicle to check the area around the transmission drain plug for leaks.
14. Make sure the fluid level is just below the mark "F" on the dipstick. Do not allow the fluid level to rise above this mark, otherwise the transmission will overflow and the excess fluid will need to be drained.
15. Reinsert the dipstick into the tube and make a short trip to warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface, let the engine idle and check the fluid level again (lever in position "Park"). The level should now be on the mark "F". If this is not the case, add the correct amount of liquid to bring the level up to this point. Again, be careful not to overfill the transmission.
