Generator — removal and installation (Mazda Capella GE)

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the connection connector and ground wire from the generator.

Models with a four-cylinder engine

3. Remove the front crossmember and front exhaust section if necessary.

Models with a six-cylinder engine

4. Remove the air intake duct and protective shield from the bottom of the engine. Remove the air conditioning compressor.

All models

5. On 4-cylinder models, remove the locking bolt and adjusting bolt located on top of the generator (indicated by arrows). Remove the drive belt from the pulley.



6. Remove the lower hinge bolt (indicated by the arrow).



7. On 6-cylinder models, remove the tensioner nut and adjusting bolt (indicated by arrows). Remove the drive belt from the pulley.





8. Unscrew the top mounting bolt (indicated by the arrow).

9. Remove the generator.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
