Removing
Remove tip (hinge) with tie rod (1).
Loosen locknut (2) from the tie rod.
Loosen the clamps on the outside (1) and inside (2) with suitable pliers. Remove outer clamp.
Power steering: pull off ventilation hose (1).
Pull the rubber boot out through the tie rod (2).
Attention: If the cover has been damaged for a long time, then because of this, dirt particles can get under it. Together with the lubricant, they act as an abrasive paste and damage the steering gear. In this case, as well as in the presence of rust on the steering rack, the steering mechanism needs to be repaired.
Installation
Clean the tie rod (WITH) and brush it lightly.
Case (IN) a little grease in the places of its fastening (E) and put on the tie rod (WITH).
Attach cover to steering rack housing (A) collar (D).
Fasten the cover on the steering rod with a clamp, for which the shoulder of the cover should be firmly planted in the groove on the rod.
Tighten the locknut on the tie rod.
Install the tie rod end.
Lower the car.
Check wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
Check if the cover has turned. If this happens, loosen the clamp and turn the cover back. Tighten clamp.
