Note: Operations and instructions applicable to all engines are described in the section dedicated to the 1.3L engine. This section describes only the differences.
Remove the timing belt.

Remove the plugs and wires for the following components: 1 - fuel injection pump, 2 - glow plug connection, 3 - coolant temperature sensor, 4 - coolant temperature gauge, 5 - oil pressure warning light switch, 6 - diesel fuel heating system.
Remove the vacuum hose (arrow) from the brake booster.
Note: During subsequent operations, collect the leaking fuel with a rag. Do not allow diesel fuel to come into contact with rubber parts, as they may be damaged. If this does happen, wash off the diesel fuel with plenty of water.

Remove the fuel supply line (2) from the diesel fuel heating device and the return fuel line (1) from the high-pressure fuel pump. To do this, squeeze the tabs and pull off the quick-release connections.

Disconnect the hoses (3) from the injectors.
Unscrew the union nuts of the high-pressure fuel lines (1) from the injectors and from the high-pressure fuel pump. Remove the fuel lines together with the holders.
Caution: Do not change the shape of the bends. Cover the holes for the fuel lines with protective caps to prevent dirt from getting inside.
Unscrew the camshaft sprocket bolt. Insert a strong screwdriver through the hole in the sprocket and hold it while unscrewing the bolt. If necessary, knock the camshaft sprocket off the conical section of the shaft with light blows of a plastic hammer and remove it.
Unscrew the bolt and remove the sprocket under the camshaft, FOR
Remove both rear timing belt covers.
Remove the timing belt side cover.

Unscrew the injectors using a suitable socket head.
Unscrew the bolts, remove the valve cover and the oil deflector located underneath it.

Unscrew the cylinder head bolts in reverse order of numbering, i.e. from 10 to 1, first by half a turn. Then unscrew all the bolts.
Note: To unscrew the bolts, you need a special T70 Torx key.
Raise the cylinder head.
Caution: After removal, do not place the head on its sealing surface, as this may damage the fully open valves. Place the head on two wooden blocks.
