Fuel Filler/Rear Compartment Release Lever — removal and installation (Mazda Capella GC)

1. Inside the vehicle, remove the lever handle, pull out the main components and remove the trim to access the release lever mounting bolt.

2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable from the lever assembly.

3. In the rear compartment, remove the trim panels to gain access.

4. Disconnect the wires from the rear compartment lock.

5. Disconnect the fuel filler wires from the bracket and pull the cable to open the filler cap. Remove the nut and disconnect the cable.

6. Attach a piece of twine or thin wire and pull the cable into the car's interior.

7. Assembly is carried out in reverse order, after installing the cable in place using twine or wire.
