Vehicles with automatic transmission and vehicles with a diesel engine.
To prepare the vehicle to be towed for starting, provided that the battery is not unloaded, the following steps must be observed:
1. Turn off all unused electrical appliances.
2. Turn the key in the steering wheel lock to position "ON (II) ".
3. Depress the clutch pedal and move the gearshift lever to position 3 before driving off.
4. Slowly release the clutch pedal when the vehicle speed reaches approximately 15 km/h and depress the accelerator pedal half way. Hold it until the engine starts.
Carefully! Never push the car in order to speed up the start: because a car with a suddenly started engine may collide with a car towing it.
Comment:
If the battery charge is insufficient, the following situations may occur. In such cases, the engine will not start (only for vehicles with diesel engine).
- 1. Pre-glow plugs not working (at outdoor temperatures of approximately 20°C).
- 2. The solenoid valve closes the fuel supply channel. In both cases, the engine will not start.
Cars with automatic transmission and fuel injection system
Your vehicle can only be started with a booster battery.
For vehicles with petrol (with lead) engine
If your vehicle does not start due to a dead battery or if for any reason, do not attempt to start by pushing or towing it. This may damage the emission control system.
