Cars with automatic transmission and cars with diesel engines.
To prepare a vehicle for towing for jump starting, provided that the battery is not discharged, the following steps must be followed:
1. Turn off all unused electrical appliances.
2. Turn the key in the steering wheel lock to the "ON(II)" position.
3. Depress the clutch pedal and move the gearshift lever to position 3 before starting to move.
4. Slowly release the clutch pedal when the vehicle speed reaches approximately 15 km/h and press the accelerator pedal halfway. Hold it until the engine starts.
Caution! Never push the vehicle to start it, as the engine may suddenly start and collide with the towing vehicle.
Comment:
If the battery charge is insufficient, the following situations may occur. In such cases, the engine will not start (only for vehicles with diesel engines).
- 1. Glow plugs do not work (at outside temperatures of approximately 20°C).
- 2. The electromagnetic valve closes the fuel supply channel. In both cases, the engine will not start.
Cars with automatic transmission and fuel injection system
Your vehicle can only be started with a booster battery.
For cars with gasoline (with lead) engine
If your vehicle does not start due to a dead battery or for any reason, do not attempt to push or tow it. This may damage the emission control system.
