Starter solenoid and gaskets (shown by arrows)
Removal
1. After removing the starter (Chapter 18), disconnect the connecting belt.
2. Remove the two or three screws that secure the solenoid housing to the starter.
3. Twist the solenoid to disconnect and remove it from the starter housing, being careful not to lose the gaskets.
Installation
4. Place the solenoid relay with gaskets into the starter and screw it in.
5. Install the two solenoid screws and the connecting belt.
6. If new components were installed, check the gear clearance. See Chapters 18 and 21.
