Maintenance recommendations are provided for car enthusiasts who will be performing the work themselves. For owners interested in maintaining their vehicles in top condition for resale, we recommend performing many maintenance tasks more frequently. If the vehicle is new, service must be performed by an authorized dealer to maintain the factory warranty.

Every 500 km of vehicle mileage or weekly



Check the levels:
  • motor oil;
  • coolant;
  • brake fluid;
  • electrolyte in the battery;
  • fluid in the windshield washer reservoir; if necessary, add a glass cleaning concentrate such as Turtle Wax High Tech Screen Wash.

Check the condition of your tires and their pressure.

Check the operation of all lights and the sound signal.

Every 10,000 km of vehicle mileage or 6 months



Check the fluid level in the power steering system.

Change the engine oil and oil filter.

Check the tightness of the carburetor mounting bolts.

Check and lubricate the body hinges.

Check the cooling system.

Check and replace hoses in the engine compartment if necessary.

Check the exhaust system.

Check and adjust valve clearances if necessary.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the accessory drive belts.



Check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition timing.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the engine idle speed and the quality of the air-fuel mixture.

Check the clutch pedal travel.

Inspect the spark plugs, adjust the gap or replace them.

Check the engine forced idle system.

Rotate tires if desired.

Check the steering system and suspension components.

Check the gearbox oil level.

Check the final drive housing.

Check the condition of the brake pads.

Check the condition of the brake system.

Check and service the battery.

Check and replace windshield wiper blades if necessary.

Every 20,000 km of vehicle mileage or 12 months



Perform the work described in the subsection "Every 10,000 km of vehicle mileage or 6 months" and the following operations.

Check the thickness of the brake pads.

Check the operation of the carburetor air damper.

Check the operation of the parking brake.

Check the operation of the air filter thermostat.

Check the fuel supply system components.

Check the accelerator cable.

Replace the fuel filter.

Check the tightness of the front suspension strut fastening connections and the drive axle nuts.

Every 30,000 km or 18 months



Perform the work described in the subsection "Every 10,000 km of vehicle mileage or 6 months" and the following operations.

Check the operation of the EGR exhaust gas recirculation system.

Check the operation of the fuel vapor recovery system.

Check the compression in the engine cylinders.

Every 40,000 km or 24 months



Operations performed in addition to scheduled maintenance after 10,000 and 20,000 km of vehicle mileage.



Check the tightness of the cylinder head mounting bolts.

Check the tightness of the intake and exhaust manifold mounting nuts.

Replace the coolant.

Change the oil in the manual transmission.

Lubricate and adjust the rear wheel bearings.

Inspect and replace the PCV valve if necessary.

Replace the air filter and PCV filter.

Inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage wires, cover and distributor rotor.

Check the oxygen concentration sensor and replace it if necessary.

Replace the brake fluid.

Every 75,000 km or 48 months



In addition to the previously mentioned routine maintenance, it is necessary to replace the working fluid in the automatic transmission.

Every 90,000 km or 60 months



Replace the timing belt of the gas distribution mechanism drive.

Servicing a vehicle operating under severe operating conditions



Heavy Duty Operation:
  • frequent short trips or prolonged engine idling;
  • high speeds at high air temperatures (over 32°C);
  • dusty area;
  • at temperatures below –12°C for 60 days or more;
  • climate conditions with high humidity;
  • mountainous terrain or heavy use of brakes.

If the vehicle is operated in such conditions, the following maintenance intervals should be followed.

Replace air and fuel filters more often.

Change engine oil and oil filter every 3000 km or once every two months.

Replace the working fluid in the automatic transmission every 35,000 km.
