The engine cylinder block is cast from cast iron, the removable cylinder head is cast from aluminum alloy. The camshaft is mounted on the cylinder head, and the force is transmitted to the valves through rocker arms located on a common shaft.

The first chapters of this section describe repairs without removing the engine from the vehicle; the following chapters discuss in detail the procedure for removing and installing the engine. The following describes the repair procedures for the components located in the block and cylinder head.
