Before performing any clutch operation, several checks must be performed to determine if there is a fault in the clutch.
With the engine running and the brake applied, depress the clutch pedal without bringing it approximately 125 mm to the lower limit of pedal travel, and move the shift lever back and forth several times. If the gear shifts smoothly, then the clutch is working properly. If gear shifting is difficult, then the clutch does not fully retract the clutch pressure plate and it is necessary to check the traction.
Inspect the clutch pedal bushings for wear and tightness.
