High temperatures in the engine compartment can cause the hose material to deteriorate and accelerate wear. Regularly check the condition of the hoses in the engine compartment and the reliability of their fastenings.
1. Check the condition of the vacuum hoses and connections. Often, to effectively check a hose, it must be removed from the vehicle.
2. Use a short piece of thin vacuum hose as a stethoscope to check for air leaks.
3. Check fuel hoses for damage or wear. Check the reliability of the hose fastenings.
4. Check that the metal tubes are not severely bent or pinched. Inspect the tubes for cracks or other damage. If the tube needs to be replaced, use only steel tubes specifically designed for this purpose.
