Attention! Take precautions when handling gasoline.
1. Check the fuel tank filler cap for tightness.
2. Inspect the fuel lines for cracks, wear, or other damage. Check the reliability of the connections and fastenings of the tubes.
3. If possible, check that there are no leaks around the injectors.
4. Inspect the fuel tank and filler hose for punctures, cracks, or other damage. Check the reliability of the fuel tank fasteners, tightness of the clamp (indicated by an arrow).
5. Check EVAP hoses and carbon filter (indicated by an arrow). The charcoal filter is located under the floor at the rear of the vehicle on 1998 Mazda 626 models.
