A simple gauge can be used to check the tread depth. If the tread depth has decreased below the minimum allowable, the tires must be replaced.
Various forms of tread wear and possible causes
1. Low tire pressure
2. Incorrect wheel alignment
3. Uneven wear
Possible reasons:
- low tire pressure, poor balance or wheel deformation, too high tire pressure;
- worn steering rods or steering arm;
- front suspension elements worn or damaged, suspension incorrectly adjusted.
1. Check the condition of the tread pattern and the degree of wear. Uneven tire wear indicates poor wheel balance or poor suspension adjustment.
2. Inspect tires for cuts, punctures, stuck nails or other sharp objects. If there is an air leak, first of all, check the reliability of the chamber valve.
3. If it is OK, check the tire surface for punctures by applying soapy water to the tire surface. The air leak will show itself as bubbles.
4. Check your tire pressure regularly with an accurate gauge.
