Examination
1. To check the switch, disconnect the wiring connector, then remove the cap from the brake master cylinder reservoir.
2. Check the resistance between the switch terminals with the float raised (figure 15.2). Resistance must be endless.

3. Check the resistance between the switch terminals with the float lowered (figure 15.3). The resistance should be zero.

4. If the switch does not function as specified, replace it.
Replacement
5. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the switch (if it hasn't already been done).
6. Remove as much brake fluid as possible from the reservoir (using a culinary syringe or a syringe).
Warning. If you use a culinary syringe, do not use it for cooking. Remove the screw and remove the reservoir from the master cylinder. Replace the entire tank including the seals.

7. Install the new tank in the reverse order of removal.
