Note. Since 1998, a brake light switch has been installed on cars. which can only be adjusted once. If the brake pedal height needs to be adjusted, this switch must be replaced with a new one.
Pedal Height
1. Pedal height is the distance between the pedal pad and the floor (pic. 12.1). If the pedal height does not match Technical Data, you need to adjust it. Measure the distance between the center of the pedal pad and the carpeted floor.
2. To adjust the pedal height, loosen the adjusting bolt locknut and turn the ballast to the desired direction. When the bolt is turned out, the height of the pedal increases, and when it is screwed in, it decreases. After adjusting the height of the pedal, it is necessary to adjust its free play (see point 4). Tighten the adjusting bolt locknut.
Free travel of the brake pedal
4. Free travel of the brake pedal is the distance that the brake pedal is lowered before the brake system begins to work (pic. 12.4). If the pedal free play differs from that given in Technical Data, adjust it.
5. To adjust the free play of the pedal, loosen the pusher locknut (see fig. 12.1), then rotate the pushrod so that the free play of the pedal becomes equal to the required one. Tighten locknut.
