Caution! Gasoline is highly flammable, so take all fire safety precautions when working with any part of the fuel system. See warning at beginning paragraph 2.
1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system (see paragraph 2).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning. If your vehicle's audio system is equipped with anti-theft protection, make sure you have the unlock code before disconnecting the battery.
3. Disconnect the vacuum and fuel hoses from the fuel pressure regulator.
4. Unscrew the regulator mounting bolts (figure 14.4).
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the sealing ring. Before installation, moisten the O-ring with clean engine oil. Tighten the regulator mounting bolts to the specified torque.
