Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Caution: If your car's audio system is equipped with an anti-theft protection, make sure you know the unlock code before disconnecting the battery.
2. Turn the throttle control lever until the cable is aligned with the slot in the lever and disconnect the cable (fig 10.2).
3. Squeeze the lug of the cable cage, push the cage through the hole in the bracket and release the cable from the bracket (pic. 10.3).
4. Disconnect a cable from an accelerator pedal.
5. From the engine compartment, pull the cable through the engine bulkhead.
6. Installation of the cable is carried out in reverse order. Make sure that the rubber bushing of the cable is properly seated in the engine bulkhead.
Adjustment
7. Adjust the cable as follows:
- A) Check pedal free play. It should be within 1.5-5 mm.
- b) Press the button of the cable adjusting collar and turn the collar to a non-fixed position (pic. 10.7).
- V) Push in or pull out the cable guide to set the desired free play. After the end of the adjustment, turn the clip until it is fixed with the button.
- G) After adjustment, ask an assistant to check the operation of the throttle actuator. When the accelerator pedal is fully depressed to the floor, the throttle should rotate to the fully open position. When the pedal is released, the throttle should return to the idle position. In this case, the pedal must have the free play value indicated above. If the throttle valve does not open fully, loosen the pedal stop jam nut and adjust the stop as needed. so that the damper is fully open. Then tighten the locknut again
- d) Make sure that the cable is not twisted, pinched or caught in any place.
