Compressor — removal and installation (Mazda BT-50 (1))

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the refrigerant from the system.

3. Remove the drive belt of the attachments.

4. Loosen the compressor mounting bolts and move it.

Attention:
  • To avoid contamination of the system, immediately install plugs on open ends of pipes.
  • Avoid spilling compressor oil. Operating the compressor without sufficient compressor oil will cause abnormal noise and may cause the compressor to seize.


5. Remove the compressor in the sequence of numbers shown in the figure.

1 - high pressure line hose,

1 - high pressure line hose,
2 - low pressure line hoses,
3 - compressor electromagnetic clutch connector,
4 - air conditioning compressor.


6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

7. Adjust the air conditioning compressor and power steering pump drive belt (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").

8. Perform the actions described in the subsection "Checking the efficiency of the refrigerant circulation system".

Note: When installing a new compressor, add 180 ml of compressor oil (oil from the old compressor and 15 ml of new oil).
