Disassembly and assembly



1. Disassemble the compressor electromagnetic clutch in the sequence of numbers shown in the figure.

1 - bolt,

1 - bolt,
2 - pressure plate,
3 - adjusting washers,
4 - retaining ring,
5 - pulley,
6 - screw,
7 - stator,
8 - retaining ring,
9 - compressor.


Note:
  • To loosen or tighten the bolt, hold the clutch pressure plate as shown in the figure.
  • When installing a new air conditioner housing, replace the bolt with a new one.

2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

3. Adjust the electromagnetic clutch.

Adjusting the electromagnetic clutch



1. Place the air conditioner compressor on a flat horizontal surface.



2. Turn on the electromagnetic clutch by connecting the wire from the positive terminal of the battery to terminal "A" of the clutch connector, and the wire from the negative terminal to the air conditioner compressor housing.

3. Place the dial indicator on the magnetic stand and place the dial indicator probe at point "A" on the surface of the pressure plate.

4. Disconnect the electromagnetic clutch by disconnecting the wire from the air conditioner compressor housing and measure the gap.

5. Repeat steps "2 - 4" for points "B" and "C".

6. Make sure that the gap corresponds to the nominal one.
  • Nominal clearance - 0.35 - 0.75 mm

7. Adjust the clearance using adjusting washers.

Examination



1. Disconnect the connector from the compressor electromagnetic clutch.

2. Connect the wire from the positive terminal of the battery to terminal "A" of the clutch connector, and the wire from the negative terminal to the air conditioner compressor housing.

3. Make sure the electromagnetic clutch is engaged.

If the clutch does not engage, replace the clutch stator winding.
