Caution: When performing disassembly and assembly procedures, do not damage the inner surface of the housing and pistons.
Note: Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Note on installing the locking screw
1. (Models with ABS system) Install piston #2 into the housing so that the groove on the piston faces the locking screw. Use a screwdriver or rod to push and hold the piston.

2. (Models without ABS system) Install pistons No.1 and No.2 into the housing and press the piston until it stops.

3. Place the seal on the screw and tighten the screw.
4. Press and release piston #1, making sure the pistons are held in the master cylinder body.
Checking the Low Brake Fluid Level Sensor
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Disconnect the sensor connector.
3. Using an ohmmeter, make sure there is no conductivity between the connector terminals when the brake fluid level in the reservoir is above the "MIN" mark.

4. Using an ohmmeter, check for conductivity between the connector terminals when the brake fluid level in the reservoir is below the "MIN" mark. Replace the low brake fluid level sensor if necessary.
