1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the gear shift fork and the synchronizer sleeve.

Gap:
  • nominal - 0.05 - 0.40 mm
  • maximum allowable - 0.5 mm

maximum allowable - 0.5 mm

If the clearance is not within the standard, replace the gear shift fork and synchronizer sleeve.

2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the synchronizer ring and the side surface of the gear along the entire circumference.

Gap:
  • nominal - 0.8 mm
  • maximum allowable - 1.5 mm

maximum allowable - 1.5 mm

If the gap is not within the norm, replace the synchronizer ring.

3. Measure the length of the springs in a free state.

Nominal length:
  • first and second gear shift rod retaining spring - 22.5 mm
  • third and fourth gear shift rod retaining spring - 22.5 mm
  • 1st and 2nd gear shift rod tip spring - 22.8 mm
  • 5th and reverse gear shift rod tip spring - 41.0 mm
  • 5th and reverse gear shift rod retaining spring - 24.97 mm

5th and reverse gear shift rod retaining spring - 24.97 mm

If the spring length is not within the standard, replace the spring.

4. Measure the radial runout of the secondary shaft.
  • Radial runout - 0.23 mm

Radial runout - 0.23 mm

If the shaft runout does not meet the established norm, replace the secondary shaft.

5. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the shift rod tip and the control lever.
  • Nominal clearance - less than 0.5 mm
