1. Disconnect the negative pole of the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel (Chapter 13).
3. Remove covers of a steering column and disconnect connecting plaits.
4. Remove the fan duct.
5. Remove the combination switch (Section 12).
6. Remove fixing nuts and bolts of a steering column and a coupling bolt of an intermediate shaft.
7. Unhook the steering column from the intermediate shaft and carefully lift the steering column from the vehicle.
8. Due to the collapsible design, the steering column is very susceptible to external contact, do not damage it when it is removed from the car.
9. If the car was in an accident in which the main components of the body were damaged or the steering column was locked, then its repair should be carried out by a qualified mechanic.
10. To remove the ignition/adjustment lock, contact Section 12.
11. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Clamp various fasteners with their specified tightening torques (when known).
