Steering wheel — removal and installation (Mazda Capella GC)

To remove and install, follow these steps.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the horn button, trim plate and disconnect the connector from the horn switch.

Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut and set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position.

Caution! Never tap the end of the steering shaft.

Mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the steering shaft and use a puller to remove the steering wheel.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

Before installing the steering wheel, apply a thin layer of Moly grease to the horn sliding contact.

When installing the steering wheel, align the marks made before removing it.
